As Mother Day is approaching, I thought it would be appropriate to pay tribute to a woman who has touched my life and the lives of many of you, our grandma / Cho cho.
This special woman went to be with the Lord in April 1995.
A widower since the age of 20+ having to bring up 4 boys and 2 girls on her own. She has not only successfully keep them warm and prevent them from being hungry, but she has ensure that all her children are well educated. Through her efforts, the next generation benefited too and many of us are excelling in the areas that we are in...town planner, botanist, educators, architect, engineers, entrepreneur and...
She was the tailor (as what er-ker shared earlier) , the barber ( all our hairs are cut by her- never thought it is ugly, haha), the handicarft maker, the financial controller , the shopkeeper, story teller and...
I remember once when I was still staying in Fair park, I got scolded by her due to some quarrel with Swee or Khoon and I got angry with her as I felt victimized. She told me there and then that she did it because she loved me. That stayed with me since that day. I learned to appreciate discipline from then on.
The night before she passed away, I was so happy to hear her calling out to Jesus "Ya-so". That was the only sentence she could uttered. She slept peacefully till the next day when she breath her last. I know she is in heaven now as she has accepted Jesus as her savior.
I thank God for her...

If my memory is correct, I was one of the many kids who were sitting on the stairs in Fair Park the night that cho cho passed away. I remember being called to her side to say bye... & holding her hand... which after a while went cold.... After that it was confusing as all the adults were rushing to check on her... but I knew that she had gone to be with God... and moments later the crying began. Zoe
